That said, I did read Mr. Monson&#039;s article, and then continued onward to the comments (was that reverse psychology, M.J.?) I can&#039;t help but notice the double standard - so many of the comments basically pass off blame for hitting the grates to the cyclist, but then later complain about &quot;CAR EATING MONSTER POTHOLES A FOOT DEEP OR MORE!&quot; You&#039;d think SDOT has installed anti-tank ditches in the middle of arterials throughout the city.

If you believe cyclists should be able to ride around any storm grate, why can&#039;t you keep your car out of a pothole?</description>
