You're right, George. We on bikes need to look out for those on foot. We can do better.

I bus to the games, but I like the idea of cycling. One reminder is that pedestrians have the right of way on the BGT, and it's crowded before and after the game. In the few minutes I was walking on the trail I saw 3 encounters with cyclists that left a negative impression of cyclists with the pedestrians affected.

I bussed/walked to the EWU game and saw all the bike racks out near the triangle garage. It was good to see so many bikes out there. I attend games occasionally and taken my bike, and it is challenging to find a place to lock it up near the stadium, even at a bike-friendly campus like UW. I have seen some cyclists get pretty creative, so this is a good sign. When our prolonged summer ends it would be nice if a covered area was available, though. There are some covered areas to chain up east of Hec Ed and near the new IMA.

Biking to a UW football game is fine, but the Burke Gilman Trail from roughly Brooklyn Ave to the stadium can be congested with fans walking from faraway parking spots to the game. Take Pacific Ave and avoid the drunken tailgaters walking 6 abreast.
