Bike Month is just a couple of weeks away, which means that if you are a middle school or high school student, it’s time to sign up for Bike to School Month and get ready to log your trips.
If you haven’t participated in Bike to School month, you can get started here by entering your email address, and if you have an account from last year just log-in. After you’ve set up your profile, check out your competition as well as this year’s prizes while you’re at it. Inspire more people to join you by printing out some posters to hang around your school.
Cascade will also be hosting a number of in-person sign up days all around Seattle to make the process even easier and more fun (basically, you give us your email, we give you an I ♥ my bike sticker)! Last week, we brought the Bike Blender to Ballard High School for their Earth Day celebration, and signed up almost 30 students while we were at it!
Other sign up days coming up are at McClure Middle School, the Northwest School, Garfield High School and Eckstein Middle School so look out for us if you attend any of those schools. If we aren’t coming to your school, make sure to sign yourself up online, it only takes a minute. If you are a teacher, make sure to enter your school name as your organization when signing up for the Commute Challenge so your students can track your progress :) If you have any web troubles or other questions, contact me, Erica, to get it sorted out.
And remember, the school with the most riders on Bike to School Day gets a Bike Blender party of their own! If that’s not motivation to get yourself and all your friends riding, what is? Remember that in order to qualify, someone at your school must email me the number of kids that rode on Bike to School Day by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 18.
