From a previous reply:
"If more people decide to crash the event, it does jeopardize it for everyone. It makes the event less fun for the volunteers and less safe for the participants and less enjoyable to the communities we ride through."
yes, they are public roads, but there are 364 other days and 51 other weekends -- download the route/cue sheet and ride on one of them.

The roads on the route are public roads. And no one can be impeded from riding on those public roads. If someone just wants to ride their bike along the route on those days, why should they pay someone for the privilege? Just ride.

about five years ago the present "Refund/No Transfer Policy" was adopted when the logistics and volume of transfers became overwhelming. in our litigious world it's not as simple as a rider just selling or giving away their registration to another rider.

registered riders can start anywhere; but, riders starting from Centralia/Chehalis and south should start after 12 on saturday or on sunday if they wish to use Cascade's rest stops.

Why aren't registrations transferable? My friend's riding partner bailed, due to wrist surgery, ruining training rides, so now friend has to ride "alone" or cancel.

Can people start farther down the road, say in Castle Rock area, to cut mileage?

Crashing an event is not cool to those who paid and are expecting SAG support. There is nothing worse than showing up to a SAG and finding they are out of what you need due to selfish poachers. Just sayin...

see MJ Kelly's post above. if you do decide to ride with your friend, you both need to plan on using "rest stops" other than the official ones, which will make it a different experience.
